Mirror Synchronicity: The Cat who Likes to Meditate

Karma
This is Karma.  Apparently, she likes to meditate.  On my IPad I have downloaded several relaxation and meditation apps with Glenn Harrold.  At first his accent was a bit distracting, but now I think it is relaxing and the recordings are amazing!  One of my favorite ones is the "Chakra Cleansing."

Three times in a row, Karma jumped up on me and started kneading my chest while I was listening to the meditation.  What was even more amusing, is that each time it happened during the same part in the recording that clears the third chakra, which is the Solar Plexus.

Usually by the time I got to the fourth chakra in the meditation, she has settled down, laying right on my chest, purring loudly and sending me her healing energy.

She must like his voice because if I turn on the "instant sleep" meditation to help me fall asleep, she comes running into the bedroom and jumps up and settles down parallel to me.  Strangely, during that meditation, she does not jump onto my chest - it is only when I'm clearing my chakras.

Psychic Reading: Mixed Messages

My cousin JL and I share an interest in the metaphysical. We are third-generation believers. Neither one of us frequents psychics extensively, but we both have been known to have conversations with friends who are psychic. Multiple times we have had messages that only made sense once we talked to each other.

The first one was her reading about the cross, which I told in my blog post penny cross (I love this story too)

The second time was the reading I received about scarves

The third reading I did not blog but was a conversation I had with a medium friend. JL's grandmother (from her dad) came through, and some of the messages were clarified and validated when I spoke with JL.

While we were talking, she mentioned she was about to have a reading the coming Friday. I told her to pay attention because I knew she would get something that was intended for me.

The week following her reading, I asked her if she had any messages for me. She said no at first, but then said, "Did you have a long-haired cat that you were close to?" JL has never had a cat but apparently this cat was quite assertive and the psychic kept saying, "Are you sure?" JL said the cat was not lovey-dovey, but rather persistent in its attempts. Although purists would say that my cat wasn't long-haired, most people described her that way. Immediately when JL told me that, I knew it was my cat that had come through to her. I was expecting to hear from someone and it is no surprise to me that it would be my cat. My cat was my very first contact with the other side. I was so surprised and excited that I wrote about her coming through after she died here and here.

I'm so amused by the universe's subtle ways of encouraging my cousin and I to keep in touch.

Mediumship 101: 5 Steps to Build Your Connection to Spirit

AHA! Just discovered Llewellyn Journal. Llewellyn is one of my favorite publishers. Basically, I look for the little moon sign on the spine when I'm browsing at Half Price Books (my favorite store). I didn't know that Llewellyn had online articles. I would do the RSS feed but I'm not quite that sophisticated in my blogging yet. I liked this article. Incidentally, for those of you that read that I lost my kitty a few weeks ago, she is still with me every night. This is my first experience ever where I am 100% certain that I'm connecting to the other side. It's pretty amazing. Plus, for you cat owners, you know that the purring is soooo comforting to fall asleep to!

Anyways - here is the article... the author talked about the connection being a blessing, so I thought it was a nice coincidence that I found it.

Saying Goodbye to Kitty RIP 1991-2009

If you've read more than a few of my posts, you'll know that I'm very close to my cats. Kitty has been with me for 18 years. As she aged she became more and more loving. When she was a kitten, she slept on my head. The last few months she had been tucking herself into my armpit. Her purring was a nice steady sound to help me sleep. Last week, I had to say goodbye. She was in so much pain that I knew it was time. The actual act of putting her to sleep was awful because the doctors had trouble finding a vein and I was just mortified that it was not a peaceful experience for her. That night I woke up to one of my other cats jumping on the bed. I thought to myself that it was cool that they were both sleeping with me, as I was already snuggling with one. Except when I opened my eyes, there was only one cat there. The next couple of nights, I could both hear the purring and feel the vibration on my body from Kitty. It was her way of telling me that she was ok. One of my other cats, Karma, was really cool with it and would snuggle with her (they never did that alive). The other cat, Daisy, would jump on the bed, look in the general direction of where I felt Kitty was and then jump down immediately. I don't feel Kitty as much anymore, I'm hoping it's because she's moved on to a sunny place. Her visits to me were comforting and reassuring that there is life beyond, ever for the kitties.

The life of a cat: my next life?

My father and I saw a pet psychic speak at our local psychic fair. She wasn't 'the' pet psychic, but she did seem like she was legit. She spoke about animals and humans cross-reincarnating. It's an interesting thought. I read an story in an Alfred Hitchcock anthology about a woman who made eye contact with her cat and then they switched souls. Unfortunately for the cat, the woman had just killed her husband. It was very strange. I didn't look at my cats straight in the eye for a while after that.

Directional Synchronicity: Daisy the cat

It was a brisk fall evening. My husband and I were finishing up dinner and we started talking about my cat, Kitty. I'd had Kitty for 12 years and she really doesn't like anyone else but me. My husband was getting tired of being hissed at, so he conceeded that perhaps we could get another cat that would like him. We went outside for a smoke and just then a small calico came running across the street towards us. We had never seen her before, but she was quite friendly. She rubbed up against our legs and even let us pick her up. Because it was cold outside, we decided to take her in. The next week I asked around the neighborhood and found that she was a stray. She is the sweetest, cutest cat I've ever known. We named her Daisy.
