I believe in Karma

Tired and weary from a 3 hour drive, I stopped at Garcia's, a Mexican restaurant in Flagstaff, AZ to have dinner. It was late and by east coast time, it was nearly midnight. Dinner was good but I was hardly able to eat because I just wanted to go to bed. I walk out to my rental car and from across the parking lot, I see my car trunk is open halfway. My hard started pounding. Inside the car had been my work laptop, my camera, my suitcase...everything. And... it was all still there. Amazingly. Not only had I somehow left my trunk up, I didn't even lock the door and my digital camera was still sitting on the passenger seat. Immediately, I thanked the Universe. Seriously, it was a miracle.

Still in shock, I drive across the street to my hotel, a Fairfield Inn. The parking lot has warning signs about securing valuables and how they're not responsible...yada yada yada.

I walked into the lobby, and still in shock, I shared my story with the desk clerks. One immediately said, "In Flagstaff? You must have really good Karma."

I smiled. "I do." I said.

I have been trying really hard to be other-centered lately. Big tipper, letter writer, hospice volunteer... I guess the universe noticed.

Karma suggests that there is an endless life cycle until you eventually break the cycle. The good/bad things you do in this life reflect how good or bad your next life will be when you are reincarnated. With much respect, I have to say that I disagree with this.

However, I believe that the good things that happen to you in this life are a result of truly following God. And the bad things that happen are a result of deviating from what God approves of.
I don't believe we are reincarnated. I believe that we live once and die once.

As a Christian, I just thought I would share my beliefs with you because I happened to randomly stumble across your webpage and at the top it said:
-"You've found me. That means we were meant to connect."-

I encourage you, if you have doubts about what is real, to pray to God and ask him to reveal the truth to you. If you pray to him and truly mean what you are saying, and try to really find out what the truth is, I am positive he will reveal it to you in some way.

Karma suggests that there is an ongoing life cycle until you eventually break it. The good/bad things you do in this life reflect how good or bad your next life will be, when you are reincarnated. With much respect, I have to say that I disagree with this. If you do much good in this life, Karma says that, after being reincarnated, your quality of life will be very high (and if you do lots of bad things, your quality of life, after reincarnation will be low). But, how is quality of life judged? Is it being rich or is it being happy (or possibly something else)?
Being rich is what many people strive to be in this life...and also many people believe that being happy is a favorable outcome of life. At the same time, there are many rich people who are unhappy and there are poor people that are happy...so which one is the favorable outcome? Because of this, I respectfully disagree with the idea of Karma.

However, I believe that the good things that happen to you in this life are a result of truly following God. And the bad things that happen are a result of deviating from what God approves of.
