Mirror Synchronicity: 91 is the Age of Fun

My first exposure to the age of 91 being a time of adventure was when we took a hospice patient, Joan skiing. It was featured in The Columbus Dispatch

Then today I saw a (sad) article about a 91 year old who plowed into a cafe (not fun)

But then in looking for that article by the age (because I thought it would be easy to narrow down), I kept finding articles about women living it up at the age of 91.

First I found the 91 year old skydiver, and then the 91 year old actor, and then the 91 year old yoga instructor.

And that is when I recognized the synchronicity and thought...

Is 91 the magic age for adventure?

On the Radio: Shared Death Experience

Well, folks... it's time to trust the universe that I am meant to tell this story. I am scheduled to do a live radio interview regarding the shared death experience. This is the first time I will be publicly telling the story "off the cuff." (I first presented the story at the International Conference on Grief and Bereavement, but that was a prepared presentation). If you would like to tune in, it will be broadcast worldwide on BITEradio on Friday - February 17th, 8:00-9:00pm Eastern. Here's the link

Aside from me, though if you are interested in the metaphysical, you might enjoy some of the other radio broadcasts which are archived on the website.

Directional Synchronicity: Trust Your Journey

My friend D. came across an inspirational website that happened to have a store with items that she liked. She and I have been exploring the metaphysical world together and have had many wonderful discussions. On the website there is a set of bracelets that is meant for two people - the giver keeps one for herself and gives one to a friend. She was drawn to a set of bracelets that said, Trust Your Journey, and almost bought them, but then decided against it because we don't usually exchange gifts, she had never ordered from that website, etc.

But then not long after that, we were at a party and both received psychic readings from the same person. We took notes for each other and the tarot reader said to me, "Trust Your Journey." D knows how much I love synchronicities, and she took this to be a directional synchronicity for her to go back and buy the bracelets. She did, and I love mine! As she expected, the gift was even more special because it had a synchronicity attached to it.

Directional Synchronicity: Dying in the Digital Age

My cousin JL and I are close, and I blog about her frequently. Last year she completed her PhD in Digital Psychology. I study Thanatology (death and dying) and hope to return to school for my PhD as well.

A few days ago, JL and I were talking about our mutual interests and I lamented that it would be so nice for us to find a way to work together.
Not long after I was catching up on my journal reading when I came across a conference called, "Dying in the Digital Age" that perfectly blends our two disciplines. Neither of us knew that a "blending" existed. Not only does it blend our interests, but the conference had issued a "call for papers" due in March. It is almost as if the universe has not only blessed the idea of us working together, but is now nudging us to do so.

The conference is in England and we would both be paying out of pocket. Because it never hurts, we have asked the universe to provide the financial means for us both to go. We'll see what happens.

As a side note, my interest is in studying the blogs of people who say that they created they blog because they are dying, and they want to document their final months. It seems to be a trend lately. If you come across any of these blogs, please send them my way.

Psychic Reading: Mixed Messages

My cousin JL and I share an interest in the metaphysical. We are third-generation believers. Neither one of us frequents psychics extensively, but we both have been known to have conversations with friends who are psychic. Multiple times we have had messages that only made sense once we talked to each other.

The first one was her reading about the cross, which I told in my blog post penny cross (I love this story too)

The second time was the reading I received about scarves

The third reading I did not blog but was a conversation I had with a medium friend. JL's grandmother (from her dad) came through, and some of the messages were clarified and validated when I spoke with JL.

While we were talking, she mentioned she was about to have a reading the coming Friday. I told her to pay attention because I knew she would get something that was intended for me.

The week following her reading, I asked her if she had any messages for me. She said no at first, but then said, "Did you have a long-haired cat that you were close to?" JL has never had a cat but apparently this cat was quite assertive and the psychic kept saying, "Are you sure?" JL said the cat was not lovey-dovey, but rather persistent in its attempts. Although purists would say that my cat wasn't long-haired, most people described her that way. Immediately when JL told me that, I knew it was my cat that had come through to her. I was expecting to hear from someone and it is no surprise to me that it would be my cat. My cat was my very first contact with the other side. I was so surprised and excited that I wrote about her coming through after she died here and here.

I'm so amused by the universe's subtle ways of encouraging my cousin and I to keep in touch.

Synchronicity in the News: Tim Tebow and John 3:16

I love it when mainstream media sees a synchronicity so significant that they cannot help but splash it all over the headlines. If you are a fan of synchronicities, you probably have already heard about Tim Tebow and John 3:16 but in case not...

Tim Tebow is a quarterback for the Denver Broncos football team. He has always been known for his Christian faith and can be seen attributing his success to God with a grand gesture of prayer every time he makes a big play. This gesture has been referenced as "Tebowing." Along with the gesture, he has repeatedly made references over the years to his favorite bible verse John 3:16.

In the playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, last week, Tim Tebow had a career high of 316 yards. In addition, his final quarter-hour rating (whatever the heck that is) was 31.6. The synchronicity was noticed by many and Twitter went crazy with people talking about it.

I don't know much about football, so if you want to know more about Tim Tebow, the Denver Broncos or that particular game, please Google it.

I just wanted to shout it from the rooftops that a synchronicity made the news. Woo hoo!

Mirror Synchronicity: Metal Mouth

Again, for those who may not be familiar with my blog, I have always said that I record all synchronicities, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.

My husband was watching a television show about the radium girls - women who inadvertently ingested radium while working in factories in the early 20th century. They used their mouths to moisten paintbrushes and then used the painbrushes to apply a coating on watches. (If you are curious about it, you can read about it here.)

The next morning, I went to a local IANDS meeting and we had a guest speaker named Mark Pitstick, author of Radiant Wellness. He has a background in nutrition and talked extensively about the mind-body connection, but also how many of our ailments can be attributed to inadvertently digesting metals from processed foods.

Whoa. So hearing this twice in 12 hours made me think that I need to reevaluate my diet. Was this simply a mirror synchronicity or was there a deeper directional synchronicity nudge?

But honestly, I didn't think too hard about it. That day I had Cheetos and a Diet Coke for lunch.
